KonoSuba is the most common name used for KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Which is the English name of the Japanese franchise called Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! For those who are curious, KonoSuba is a parody of the Isekai stories that are so popular in the otaku-oriented media today, making it a great choice for people with a taste for his sense of special humor.

In short, the stories of Isekai are stories in which a normal person from Earth is sent into a kind of parallel world that is either fantastic or unusual. Sometimes this happens through reincarnation. Other times it happens through some sort of transportation. There are even cases where the new world is a virtual world which has become real through unknown means which may or may not come forward for the narrative. Anyway, the stories of Isekai tend to serve as a kind of fulfillment of wishes to their consumers, that is why they tend to share many characteristics which range from their protagonists having a kind of special power to their protagonists who can attract a wide range of beautiful love interests whose appearances meet a wide range of preferences with a minimum of effort on their part.

Why should you watch Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! Kurenai Densetsu?

Currently, two seasons of an animated adaptation for KonoSuba have been released. Also, it has been revealed that there will be an animated film called Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! Kurenai Densetsu, the last part translating as “Crimson Legend”. Based on this, it should not be surprising to learn that the film should cover the interactions of the main cast with the Crimson Demons in their hometown, which is the next segment in the history of the series.

As to why someone would want to watch it, well, it depends on whether they find the rest of the animated adaptation interesting or not. If they liked watching KonoSuba, they should watch Kurenai Densetsu because this is the next segment of the story that will extend to some extent to the characters and move events forward. Therefore, if they skip the movie, chances are they are somewhat confused by a story that evolves each time the next animated work is released. Facts You Didn’t Know About Aqua

Aqua is one of the main characters in the history of KonoSuba who travels along Kazuma Satou to try to defeat the demon king. Before her trip with Kazuma and her party, Aqua was a water goddess whose job was to guide humans to the afterlife. As a goddess of water, Aqua is revered by religious fanatics of the Order of the Axis.

Before joining the Kazuma party, Aqua was a goddess who led people to the afterlife where she offered them to be reborn in an alternative world, or finally to rest. After being deceived by Kazuma Satou, Aqua was forced to see this adventure with him.

On the party, Aqua plays the role of an expert Arch Arch priest whose skills are far beyond the level of an amateur. Curiously, it is often called “useless” and “dead weight” by Kazuma throughout their journey, because it unnecessarily causes trouble for him.

As a goddess, Aqua is considered one of the most beautiful characters in the entire KonoSuba series. According to Kazuma, his beauty transcends everything he has ever seen and cannot be compared to ordinary humans.

This is further emphasized throughout their adventure as she often receives compliments on her beauty. Despite this, Kazuma is not afraid to call her when she is happy about the problems, which is most of the time. Over time, Kazuma’s attraction to Aqua has turned into frustration, although most of it is for comic relief.

Throughout KonoSuba, the biggest nuance of Aqua is its erratic personality. She is often seen as carefree and cheerful. However, she does not seem to care about the consequences of her actions, which are often catastrophic.

As a result of her actions, she is often seen crying with the help of Kazuma, which frustrates him even more than usual. She is considered the least intelligent person in the whole party by Kazuma and is generally the first suspect when something strange happens. Over time, it acquired a reputation for inviting trouble to the party.

His lies

Aqua is a goddess, which means that her actions are meant to do good, even if they end up causing trouble for the party. Interestingly enough, Aqua, being a goddess, is not able to lie either, which allows the party to easily reveal the truth to her.

Even if she tries to lie, she reveals the truth most of the time. Her lies are taken up simply by people who pinch her cheeks, on which she immediately spits him out. As such, Aqua is the most honest member of the party, which is the complete opposite of Kazuma.

Aqua has developed a reputation for being one of the dumbest characters in KonoSuba. Although her actions make her look stupid, in truth, she is anything but that. Aqua is probably the smartest person on the party, but according to Kazuma, that title goes to Megumin (probably after him).

KonoSuba: an explosion on this wonderful world!

For fans of the series on any medium, this is a great read for developing additional characters and building the world. I haven’t read all of the light novels at the time of this writing, so I’m not sure if it has already been covered, but it was nice to finally be able to see the Crimson Magic Clan village and meet a lot of its… eccentric residents.

This first volume also allowed me to learn a little more about how the magic system works in KonoSuba, while magic users go from the basics to learning advanced magic. It is explained that there are different specialized branches of magic in the category of spell casting: blasting magic, detonation magic and explosion magic. Of the three types, explosion magic is the most useless due to its high cost in skill points and its many disadvantages. This type of magic is so specialized and far from practical and everyday magic that pursuing it is akin to pursuing a doctorate. The subject is something that needs to be deeply interested or involved, and the result probably has applications, but none is likely viable to use in everyday life for the average person (or in this world, the users magic).

However, we quickly realize that these are not just games and fun games. While continuing the comedy, this spin-off also gives a glimpse of the reality of this magical world. There are constant mentions of monsters hiding near the village and hints of magic seals that must be reinforced to continue to ward off danger. The interludes between each chapter of the volume reveal that Komekko, Megumin’s younger sister, has made a rather … dangerous friend.

Uhhhhhh …

And although magically capable, the people of this village (and of the world) are still only human and still face typical human problems. There are the usual romantic and relational misunderstandings, bullying on the part of classmates, constantly absent parents and the lack of food to the point that the dear friend of Megumin has almost become his dinner several times.

I think the construction of the world shown in the spin-off so far adds another layer of depth to the setting which is generally not seen in the anime, as it is mostly filled with hilarious dialogs and gags.
